The One was borne from a love for all things of beauty. What is more beautiful than celebrating a person's authentic self and helping them feel loved and empowered on one of the most important days in their life? That is the driving force behind the vision for creating The One. It is a kindred love for celebrating the beauty in all of us that binds #TheOneBrides as a community.
I founded The One in 2020 with my husband, Russ. After more than a year of listening to my new and brilliant ideas for a bridal store, my husband looked at me one day and said, "Let's make it happen", in his always supportive fashion.
So, in February of 2020 I set out to create the perfect bridal experience. I searched for the perfect location and sought designers all over the world to create a truly diverse collection of the most beautiful dresses. I focused on mostly designers with small ateliers where we could fully customize dresses for brides while keeping the experience simple and attainable. Emphasizing the importance of lace placement, cut and material, we curated a collection of dresses that accentuate the beauty of a woman's shape, and are made to measure for the perfect fit for all shapes and sizes. We also added on-site alterations, accessories and wedding party attire to round out the full bridal experience and eliminate the need to shop multiple places. This allows us to curate a fully coordinated bridal attire collection.
Then came the global pandemic that would change the wedding world for some time. We decided to press-on, but pivot to create a safe environment that was more flexible to the changing landscape. We added more square footage so we could create larger, more private suites that would allow brides and their loved ones to view dresses with minimal interaction from others. We installed state-of-the-art HVAC systems with exhaust from each suite and virus-killing UV light filers. We created protocols and processes for sanitizing rooms and dresses between appointments and invested in high temperature steamers to kill anything that could linger. We added a line of new dresses available in multiple sizes for immediate online purchase for brides who had to alter their wedding planning timeline, and we now offer virtual appointments and in-home concierge service where we bring the bridal experience to you.
This is an exciting new chapter for our family. When I am not toiling over every detail of our store I am with my supportive husband, our four kids and our dog, Ruby, either at home, or on one of our many adventures! We love to travel and collect new experiences and memories.
